Sound and Artefact Searches

These 'special' searches use special indexes to retrieve only sites with useful sound files / artefact images respectively. 'Normal' searching searches the whole database for all matching sites.

Process Keywords through Thesaurus

When this option is ticked, a 'normal' search for whole keywords is made. As well as searching the database, you will receive a list of all the thesaurus terms which were found to match your keywords. These are displayed as a list of links. You can click on these links to carry out searches based on single Thesaurus terms, which can be a convenient way of refining a search.

(If no terms are listed, then none were matched and the search reverted to a normal keyword search.)

Some Thesaurus terms are phrases: these will be searched for using your keywords in the order in which they have been entered.
