‘Actions’, according to the old proverb, ‘speak louder than words’. And ‘it’s not what you say, it’s the way that you say it’. So it is with being a successful leader in any field.
In any educational setting we will be part of various teams, sometimes as leaders, sometimes as followers, but always as participants. It’s worth bearing in mind, when you are not the leader, how do you want to be treated by the leader? How do you think the leader would want you to participate?
This section of RE:ONLINE looks at two vital areas of leadership in religious education: how to develop a Policy for the subject and how best to put it into Practice. Throughout, the focus is on pupils’ Learning – that must be at the heart of what we do as teachers.
