In Conversation: On the Road with the CaAR – Uniting Around a National RE Journey

Recording now available below.

The publication of the Curriculum and Assessment Review (CaAR) marks a landmark moment for Religious Education in England. The Review recommends that RE should be included within a new national curriculum, a proposal that carries profound implications for schools, teachers, SACREs and the wider RE community.

Such a moment calls for clarity, collective reflection and constructive leadership.

Join us for a special In Conversation event that brings together expert voices from across the sector. Hosted by Fiona Moss, this one-hour discussion explored the significance of the CaAR’s recommendations, considered what this change could mean in practice, and reflected on how the RE community can move forward.

Our panel included:

  • Katie Freeman – Chair of NATRE and Primary School Teacher
  • Paul Smalley – Executive Officer of NASACRE and PGCE Lecturer RE Liverpool Hope University
  • Kathryn Wright – CEO, Culham St Gabriel’s Trust
  • Ben Wood – Former Chair of NATRE and Secondary RE Teacher
