We have created these pages specifically to support teachers and pupils during the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim is to provide you with ideas to support pupils learning from home. These pages will be regularly updated.
We would encourage teachers to sign up for our RE:ONLINE newsletter, here. This comes directly to your inbox. We will be increasing our output of these newsletters for the next few months.
We have divided the resources into primary and secondary although some will apply to both.
We hope these help you at this difficult and uncertain time.

There are schemes of learning and ‘starter’ activities on RE:ONLINE that you can use to support home learning plans for primary pupils. We are also aware of some teachers who are supporting other parents with home learning and they may want to share these ideas.
Here are some examples:
Foundation Stage: Signs and Symbols The internet could be used to find pictures, and symbols around the home might be used.
Key Stage One: Tzedekah This is based around a picture with an online link so could be used more easily at home.
Key Stage Two: Hajj This is a powerpoint that could be viewed by pupils at home about Hajj.
Why not invite pupils to watch the Charlie and Blue film collection? These five minute films introduce key ideas in six major religions. They can be found on RE:ONLINE here and on TrueTube. There are teacher notes to go with them.
Email a Believer
This facility is for teachers and other educators over 18 years of age to email believers questions. We do not advise pupils under 18 to email believers directly.
My Future My Career My RE
RE Definitions and Shap
The RE Definitions website allows pupils to look up words and find out about them. The website does currently have a few broken links which our developers are working on so do check before sharing. You could give pupils a list of words to find out about, or you might ask pupils to find out about one word for every letter of the alphabet. E.g. animism, Buddha, church, Diwali and so on…
The Shap Calendar could be used in a similar way.
Teach:RE Courses and collaboration
When things settle down, you may want to take the opportunity to develop your own subject knowledge and expertise during this time. We are planning some special offers over the next few months, but in the meantime why not check out our free self-study primary introduction course for beginner teachers and NQTs.
We are also considering some ‘virtual learning and support’ opportunities and will keep you updated on these.
We are developing some resources using these materials. Watch this space!
Also check out the www.natre.org.uk for further support and resources.
